WIMAX: The Super-WLAN? This course provides a concise introduction into the subject of WIMAX (IEEE 802.16). You will receive an overview of the current state of this new broadband access technology. Starting from the functionality (modulation and access process) we will demonstrate how WIMAX manages the problem of the last mile and how it establishes itself as a serious alternative to DSL. This course introduces of course also additional possible applications of the WIMAX technology. Various WIMAX-implementations as well as the compatibility with wireless LAN will be discussed in this course.
